Transition-- Pandion Healthcare: Education & Advocacy, A Letter from Travis Heider

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused significant financial distress, specifically to hospitals and health systems. Due to these escalating burdens, members of Pandion Healthcare Association—the advocacy and education division of Pandion Optimization Alliance—have sought cost savings.  Pandion leadership and the Association Board began a process in June 2020 seeking strategic options to continue providing Association members in the Greater Rochester and Finger Lakes region with value and service at reduced cost.

To that end, effective January 1, 2021, the Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS) will assume the advocacy and educational work of Pandion Healthcare Association, thus discontinuing the majority of Pandion’s not-for-profit arm. Despite this transition, Pandion Optimization Alliance has never been stronger or more engaged with hospitals, health systems, and front-line workers in other industries across the United States through our purchasing and business solutions.

Pandion’s Group Purchasing Organization boasts close to 6,000 members across the continuum of care and in the non-health care space accessing our best-in-class contracts that provide significant savings for their bottom line while delivering the highest quality products and services. Additionally, we have positioned ourselves as the leading group purchasing organization within the emerging digital health space. We have also expanded services beyond our traditional business to business approach with the launch of our direct business to consumer e-commerce model, Pandion Direct.

Please know you have our continued support and partnership as we continue battling the pandemic now and any other challenges in the future. As a certified sponsor and equity partner of Premier, Inc., and with extensive experience in the supply chain arena, we have been able to source scarce Personal Protective Equipment as well as critical COVID-19 testing solutions for our members throughout this unpredictable year. Please keep us in mind should you need advice, expertise, or advocacy assistance in supply, sourcing, or purchasing areas.

HANYS has formed a new subsidiary advocacy organization for this region, the Healthcare Association of Western and Central New York. For health care advocacy after the first of the year, please reference the HANYS announcement: click here. Your contact there is:
