On Wednesday, November 14, hundreds of people in the medical community from across New York State will gather at the 2018 Healthcare Innovations Conference at the Rochester Riverside Hotel to learn about and see some of the latest technologies in healthcare today.
Sponsored by Pandion Healthcare: Education and Advocacy, a non-profit organization that facilitates collaboration between 17 hospitals and healthcare systems in the Greater Rochester and Finger Lakes Region, the full-day event will feature discussions from thought leaders on topics ranging from trends in telemedicine to the impact of smartphones on clinical practice.
“As technology and innovation continue to change the face of medicine, our goal is to keep people informed and up-to-date about the latest trends and how they may impact their communities,” said Travis Heider, President and CEO of Pandion. “By convening healthcare leaders from across our region and beyond, we are able to provide them with a forum for discussion of shared challenges, best practices, and possible future collaborations.”
In addition to discussions that include improving patient care via health informatics, exploring pharmacies of the future, and new changes in surgical procedures, there will be opportunities for networking as well as a new technology showcase featuring 3D organ models, virtual reality technology for senior citizens, and more.
Kicking off the event is keynote speaker Bryan Bucklew, who was recently named the new President and CEO of the Hospital Council of Northern and Central California. His talk, “High-Impact Regional Healthcare Innovation through Challenging Collaboration,” will focus on his experience as the President and CEO of the Greater Dayton Hospital Association (GDAHA), where he launched Ascend Innovations in partnership with three major hospital systems and a product design firm, Kaleidoscope. Ascend is a for-profit product design and development team made up of clinicians, researchers, industrial designers, engineers and business analysts focused on creating innovations in healthcare.
Supporting partners for the event include the Hospital Association of New York State (HANYS), University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC), Rochester Regional Health (RRH), Monroe County Medical Society (MCMS) and Strategic Interests.
